    Support This Wind Farm

A common trait across the renewables industry is the small but vociferous objection group. npower renewables experience has shown that due to their vociferous nature these groups tend to be selected as representing the wider silent majority who often may not agree with the objector groups perspective.

Following the last Allt Dearg public exhibition held early last year, some 70% of those that completed comments forms demonstrated their support for the scheme - a figure that is mirrored in the wider support wind farms enjoy across the UK.

npower renewables is keen to ensure that all those who support this scheme make their view point known and so to avoid having objectors speaking in their place.

Write to them
Writing letters is an extremely important and easy way of being heard.

To help supporters make their voice heard npower renewables has drafted a template letter of support that all you need to do is print it off, add your own message and signature then pop it in the post to the Planning Department at Argyll and Bute Council at the address on the letter. See the box to the right of the screen. Easy!

Want to do more?
If you are feeling more adventurous guidance notes and a list of contacts including your local MP, District Councillor and Newspapers has also been drafted. See the box to the right of the screen. This includes a list of helpful hints on how to write a letter of support and things that you may want to include.

Network 10
Creating your Network 10 helps spread the word. Shortly after a wind developer submits a planning application for a wind farm, there is a short period of time during which planning authorities can accept letters from the public about the application.

Contact ten people who support wind power - this might be your family, friends or work colleagues - and let them know about the Allt Dearg Wind Farm.

These contacts are your Network Ten. Ask each of them in turn find a further ten contacts and so on.

Start by making sure they have access to this message and encourage them and their network ten to make their voices heard. This will make a real difference to the planning application.

Please ask the other members of your family, friends and work colleagues to write their own letters of support - their views are equally important and help show the planning officers and councilors the strong level of support out there.

It is important that the silent majority speak out.
