Capable of producing 700 kilowatts of green power from a single turbine Auchtertyre has been operational since 2000.

Located in Stirlingshire, this development sits between Crianlarich and Tyndrum close to the A82 and lies within the grounds of the Scottish Agricultural Centre, alongside the West Highland Way. The site is shared by wooden 'tents' used by overnight visitors.

The site is a run of river scheme and generates power through a Francis turbine feed from an underground pipeline.
