New planning legislation is being implemented in Scotland which places greater emphasis on public consultation. Although this legislation is not due to be put in place for another eighteen months, npower renewables is trying to apply the spirit of the legislation on its current projects.
To date the following activities have taken place.
- March 2006. Newsletters mailed to all homes within 10
kilometres of the proposed site. A stamp addressed postcard was enclosed with the newsletter to offer residents the opportunity to send their initial comments to us.
- March 2006 and June 2007 Focus Group Meetings held. In order
to get detailed input into the Ballindalloch Wind Farm designs, npower renewables has held two focus group meetings in Balfron. Independent recruiters have been employed to encourage a representative group from the community to attend and contribute to focus group sessions held at Balfron High School. The first was held in March 2006, the second was held in June 2007. The output from these sessions will inform the final design of the site.
- July 2007. Further newsletters have been mailed to all homes
within 10 kilometres of the proposed site. Freepost questionnaire was enclosed to offer residents the opportunity to have their say on the scheme.
- August 2007 Public Exhibitions to be held. Click on menu bar
