Local Benefits

The construction of Bryn Titli Wind Farm brought contracts worth over £2.75 million to Welsh companies and it continues to inject around £150,000 per year into the local economy through rents and maintenance.

npower renewables has delivered a range of community benefits in association with its operating wind farms. These measures benefit those communities living closest to each wind farm, and have to date included energy efficiency measures, schools education programmes, local event sponsorships, equipment for schools, youth groups and sports clubs, and repair works to village halls and other community buildings.

At Bryn Titli Wind Farm, a community fund worth about £5,000 per year, administered by local Councillors, has been set up to assist local projects in Rhayader and Llangurig. Recent donations include the purchase of kit for the junior football club, computer equipment for local schools and support for local sport and horticultural shows.

A Charitable Trust has also been established with an endowment of £100,000 to support local education and training.
