derived from an assessment of generation to date and utilises an average
electricity consumption figure of 4800 kWh per home per year (Ref: The Digest
of UK Energy Statistics 2005 gives 2004 domestic electricity consumption as 117.589
terawatt-hours (TWh) which, when taken with the 24.5 million households (2001 census)
gives an average electricity usage of 4,799 kWh per year per household.).
Original
homes calculations for this project utilised a lower average electricity consumption
per home per year based on older statistics. The updated 'annual homes equivalent'
figure is now based on data shows an increase in per capita energy consumption since
the last calculation in 1999.
