Dulyn hydroelectric power station is capable of producing 500 kilowatts of green power from its single Pelton turbine.
Situated in the mountains above Dolgarrog, the current site has been operational since 1998 where it was built primarily because of the need to transfer water to a new water treatment works. An innovative engineering solution enabled electricity to be generated by utilising existing hydroelectric infrastructure on site.
The water for generation is directed to Cowlyd reservoir, which is where the Dolgarrog "high head" system is also supplied with water.
All the water used at Dulyn actually generates electricity twice because after it has generated power at Dulyn the water used is transferred via two tunnels and Eigiau lake to Dolgarrog hydroelectric power station.
