Garrogie is a run of the river scheme. It was completed in early 2005 and is capable of generating 2.4MW of renewable electricity. It is powered by dual Francis turbines, manufactured by Gilkes.
The power station is located on the River Fechlin near Loch Ness, 8 miles north of Fort Augustus. It consists of an intake weir, a 2.5kilometre buried pipeline and a powerhouse.
