What about the cumulative impact of all the wind farm developments across the Ross-shire area?

You may be aware that Novar Wind Farm Extension was one of a number of possible wind farm sites being investigated by developers in Ross and Cromarty at present. Each individual proposal, if formally submitted, will go through strict planning processes before it is determined by The Highland Council. If, however, a proposal is over 50 megawatts in capacity, it is determined by the Scottish Executive.

Novar Wind Farm Extension was determined by the Ross and Cromarty Council. As with all planning applications, each proposal must be studied on its individual merits and in the context of its local environment. Each proposal will be carefully considered by local Councillors, and potentially members of the Scottish Executive, in the light of other existing or submitted developments. This ensures that when projects are submitted or consented they become a material consideration in any future local wind farm planning application.
