    npower Juice

Developed in 2001 by npower, in a pioneering partnership with Greenpeace, npower Juice was the UK's first non-premium green electricity product for domestic customers. The reality is that most people take electricity for granted, but modern life in the UK would be unfeasible without it. Almost every home in Britain is connected to the electricity grid, and industry, commerce and public services rely on it to function. Large scale electricity generation, therefore, must continue.

About 70% of electricity in the UK is currently generated using fossil fuels - principally coal, oil and gas - which release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and contribute to climate change. Generating an increasing proportion of our electricity from renewable sources helps to reduce such harmful gas emissions. It also helps to reduce our reliance on the world's finite fossil fuel resources.

For each unit of electricity an npower Juice customer uses, an equivalent amount will be fed into the electricity network from a renewable source, predominantly the North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farm, which was developed, built, and is operated by, npower renewables.

The pioneering partnership between npower and Greenpeace led to the birth of npower Juice in 2001.

RWE npower is part of the RWE Group.
