Residents living near to the proposed wind farm on the outskirts of Anderby will this week be handed more information about the project, as a newsletter drops on 3,300 doormats in the area.
npower renewables will start their public consultation process for the potential scheme of up to 6 wind turbines. As well as offering more general information about climate change and the need for 'green' energy, the newsletter will allow residents their first opportunity for feedback.
Kim Gauld-Clark, Developer at npower renewables, said "At this stage in any project we are always keen that people in the nearby area get the correct facts and information. With that in mind we will be opening lines of communication, making the whole process as transparent as possible. By doing this we hope to answer peoples questions and counter the myths and untruths that sometimes surround wind power"
She added, "We are still in the process of determining whether the site is suitable. If we find that it is, we'll design a wind farm which both we and independent consultants consider to be 'in keeping' with the landscape and those living in the vicinity. We not only listen to the advice of professional experts but also take into account any information local people have about the proposal. If anyone living locally has any immediate comments or questions they shouldn't hesitate to get in touch".
Anyone with comments or suggestions about this proposal can e-mail Kim Gauld-Clark at npower renewables at: langham@npower-renewables.com or write to:

Notes:
- 6 wind turbines at Anderby is enough to meet the average annual electricity needs of up to 7,100 homes, or more than three-quarters of Skegness.
- The potential development at Langham could offset the release of 28,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide, one of the main greenhouse gases, every year.
- npower renewables is yet to submit a planning application for the project.
- A public exhibition will be held to present information about the scheme, details of which will be forwarded in due course.
