    Local Community

npower renewables has delivered a range of community benefits in association with its operating wind farms. These measures benefit those communities living closest to each wind farm, and have to date included energy efficiency measures, schools education programmes, local event sponsorships, equipment for schools, youth groups and sports clubs, and repair works to village halls and other community buildings.

At Taff Ely Wind Farm, a community fund has been set up to assist local community clubs and projects, including the Gilfach Goch Rugby Football Club.

npower renewables also annually sponsors and competes in the Drovers Run that is organised by the Brynna Runaways.

Public Opinion

Independent surveys have consistently shown majority public support for wind energy developments in the UK. An independent survey carried out in December 1997 around Taff Ely, revealed that 63% supported the local wind farm with only 4% opposing (the remainder having no
opinion either way).
