The Hollies Wind Farm: Construction
Construction of the wind farm should take approximately 6 months.
Likely construction timetable
July 2007 - Civil engineering works underway - Access Tracks and Substation construction carried out, whilst wind turbine foundations are dug, piled and concreted.
Mid-August 2007 - Electrical Engineers begin work on site, cabling is buried in trenches between turbine locations and the substation before being linked to overhead power cables. Substation equipment is installed.
November 2007 - Turbine components arrive on site. Each turbine will be delivered in eight lorry loads before being erected on site.
Dec 2007 - The wind farm should be operational and will be subjected to testing before being finally commissioned.
